Pet adoption event held at Tractor Supply

BRADFORD— Throughout Vermont pets are surrendered or abandoned by people unable to continue caring for the animals. Other pets come to the state from elsewhere, many from the South, in need of new homes. Meanwhile, shelters and rescues are at or beyond capacity while the pace of adoptions has slowed, according to area animal rescues. In response, several organizations recently
collaborated on an adoption event to try to find homes for some of these animals. On Saturday, July 18 outside the Tractor Supply store, a corner of the parking lot was packed with leashed dogs, a pile of sleepy beagle puppies, an enclosure with several cats, and curious locals.
