Violent threat was hoax

HAVERHILL—A shooting threat prompted a massive police response to three Haverhill schools on the morning of May 6. The incident has since been labeled a hoax or false report and school officials said there was no substantial threat of violence directed at the school or anyone else.

At least one resigns from Bradford board

BRADFORD—The Bradford Selectboard may have to fill as many as two vacancies in the coming weeks. On May 8, the board’s longest continuously serving member stepped down.

Dog dead after lake mishap

WEST FAIRLEE—A bulldog died after a small-size SUV accidentally rolled into Lake Fairlee near the boat launch on Route 244 on Sunday afternoon.
