Murder trial faces delay

NORTH HAVERHILL—The trial of a Lyme man accused of murdering his cousin in Orford in 2021 has been delayed after his attorneys claim a psychiatric evaluation found him not competent.

BOSTON—A Vershire man has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison after pleading guilty to weapons possession. Dominick Bailey, 57, and a co-defendant attempted to trade guns for drugs in November 2019 when police in Massachusetts arrested them in a sting.

Federal and state officials, including Congresswoman Becca Balint, were in downtown Bradford on Tuesday morning to celebrate the buildout of the electric vehicle super-fast chargers completed earlier this month. The chargers in downtown Bradford in a municipal parking lot adjacent to Denny Park are Vermont’s first electric vehicle super-fast chargers under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program. There will be another grand opening on May 4.
