BURLINGTON—A federal court jury needed about two hours before deciding a St. Johnsbury man was guilty of kidnapping a 23-year-old mother and her son four years ago, and stealing two cars and taking them across state lines.

Federal and state officials, including Congresswoman Becca Balint, were in downtown Bradford on Tuesday morning to celebrate the buildout of the electric vehicle super-fast chargers completed earlier this month. The chargers in downtown Bradford in a municipal parking lot adjacent to Denny Park are Vermont’s first electric vehicle super-fast chargers under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program. There will be another grand opening on May 4.
