Rivendell to study Academy building

ORFORD—The Rivendell School Board has hired an engineering firm to conduct a visual inspection of the old Orford Academy building to assess its structural condition.

Fairlee voters to consider cannabis

FAIRLEE—On June 5, the Fairlee Selectboard signed the warning for a special town meeting on July 11 when voters will consider two separate articles, including one on whether to permit retail cannabis. Under the state law permitting retail sales of marijuana, towns must first authorize those sales before a permitted establishment can open for business.

Federal and state officials, including Congresswoman Becca Balint, were in downtown Bradford on Tuesday morning to celebrate the buildout of the electric vehicle super-fast chargers completed earlier this month. The chargers in downtown Bradford in a municipal parking lot adjacent to Denny Park are Vermont’s first electric vehicle super-fast chargers under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program. There will be another grand opening on May 4.
