On Feb. 4, the Journal Opinion’s Alex Nuti-de Biasi (center at podium) spoke at a Local Civic Journalism Awards ceremony at the Statehouse in Montpelier. Nuti-de Biasi also accepted a certificate on behalf of the JO which showcased the paper’s dedication to delivering local news to its communities. Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas presented the awards to the 16 recipients. Cassandra Hemenway of Montpelier’s The Bridge also spoke at the event.
