Thetford Academy puts cell phones on hold
THETFORD—Students in grades 7-12 at Thetford Academy will not have access to their cell phones during the school day when the year opens next week. Students will still possess their phones, but they will be sealed in pouches that are only unsealed at the end of the day.
Fire destroys Corinth home
CORINTH—A Corinth man lost his home after an oil lamp ignited a fire that destroyed the residence on Aug. 14. Several area fire departments were dispatched to 440 Camp Munn Road in Corinth at 7 a.m. on the morning of Aug. 14. The building was completely engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived.
Board forms search committee
WOODSVILLE—The Haverhill Selectboard has formed a committee to sift through applications to fill its vacant Town Administrator position. The town is accepting applications through Aug. 31. The committee was formed at the selectboard meeting on Aug. 12.
