Masking now optional at Haverhill schools

WOODSVILLE—Haverhill Cooperative School Board members repealed its targeted masking policy on Monday night, opting instead to recommend that students wear masks on the three district campuses. Board members voted 3-2 after wrestling with the wording on several motions. The new policy went into immediate effect on Dec. 14.

Newbury eyed for wood pellet plant

NEWBURY—An Upper Valley company wants to turn the former Newman Lumber Mill in the Newbury Industrial Park into a wood pellet plant. The Newbury Development Review Board will hold a public hearing later this month on the proposal by PK Wood Pellet.

Federal and state officials, including Congresswoman Becca Balint, were in downtown Bradford on Tuesday morning to celebrate the buildout of the electric vehicle super-fast chargers completed earlier this month. The chargers in downtown Bradford in a municipal parking lot adjacent to Denny Park are Vermont’s first electric vehicle super-fast chargers under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program. There will be another grand opening on May 4.
