Mine cleanup funds allocated

CORINTH—The EPA announced on Feb. 10 that some $1 billion has been allocated to clean up 22 Superfund sites across the country, including Pike Hill Mine in Corinth.
This is the second wave of funding targeting Superfund sites to emerge from the 2021 federal Infrastructure Bill. The first wave, announced in December 2021, shortly after the bill’s passage, included funding for the cleanup of Ely Mine in Vershire.
