In Everest’s shadow, light shines on finding a cure

WEST FAIRLEE—In November, nine strangers gathered in Kathmandu, Nepal to embark on a 17-day trek to Everest Base Camp, a trip of a lifetime to spread awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the most common type of muscular dystrophy. Seven were from New England, including a mother-and-daughter team, and two from Scandinavia. They ranged in age from 19 to 59. This was a personal journey as much as an adventure. Sarah Molesworth, of West Fairlee, was one of the team.
