Press stop for good at Upper Valley Press

NORTH HAVERHILL—Upper Valley Press has gone quiet. The longtime commercial printing company began in the early 1970s in Bradford and moved in the late 1990s to North Haverhill to expand, fell victim to the decline in the print industry and ceased operations earlier this month.

Groton Gateway Park aims to draw visitors

GROTON—An ambitious plan to bring new life — and visitors year-round — to the Groton railbed system will be happening this spring and summer. More than 10 miles of old railbed runs through the town of Groton, home to the Groton State Forest which covers nearly one-third of the town.

Haverhill Selectboard fills vacancy

WOODSVILLE—The Haverhill Selectboard voted on Monday night to appoint Ron Hurlburt to fill a seat vacated by Phil Blanchard last month. Hurlburt will serve until at least town meeting in 2025 when an election will be held to fill the final year of the term.

Bradford’s special sidewalk vote delayed

BRADFORD—The Bradford Selectboard voted on April 25 to cancel the May 18 special town meeting on the Creamery Road sidewalk study. Board members cancelled the town meeting on the recommendation of legal counsel. The May 18 special town meeting was warned at an attempted emergency selectboard meeting on April 17.
