ORFORD—A long-delayed repair of a dreadful stretch of roadway should get underway next month. On July 27, the Orford Selectboard held a public hearing ahead of the first phase of improvements planned for a section of Archertown Road.

NEWBURY—A devastating fire on July 14 took the life of a Newbury man. James Lacount, 77, died after his home at 2464 Bowen Road in Newbury, near the Corinth town line, went up in flames.
