ORFORD—On April 13 at 10 a.m., the Rivendell Interstate School District will convene at Rivendell Academy for its annual meeting. The meeting was originally slated for March 23, but had to be rescheduled because paper copies of the warrant were not posted at public locations in the four towns by the deadline.
This is the third part of a series on crime in the area before 1950. Part one in January covered counterfeiting, horse and auto theft, and Prohibition. Part two in March covered robberies, drugs, and adultery.

BRADFORD—The Bradford Selectboard plans to hold a special town meeting on a proposed sidewalk or walking path along Creamery Road, but last week it voted to reject a petition calling for one.
FAIRLEE—Police are investigating a head-on collision on Route 5 on Friday that sent one local woman to the hospital with serious injuries. One of the cars involved in the collision could be connected to a suspected road-rage incident in Thetford on that same day.
NEWBURY—A man suffered serious injuries in a house fire on Moore Hill Road in Newbury on Saturday afternoon.
BATH—Town Clerk Carrie Vogt shared the results from the annual Bath Town Meeting held on March 12 and said there was nothing out of the ordinary that happened at the meeting. There were concerns expressed about the potential costs for town building projects on the horizon.
PIERMONT—Approximately 25 Piermonters gathered for a brief annual school district meeting on March 19. The entire session lasted 18 minutes during which residents approved a $2.6 million operating budget for 2024-2025 and set aside $80,000 for two capital reserve funds.
BRADFORD—Bradford residents will get a chance to stroll down memory lane by revisiting a question about sidewalks raised at town meeting earlier this month.
