FAIRLEE—A public hearing on Aug. 12 to discuss a proposed building project in Fairlee village was well attended. The Grange Room at the Fairlee Town Hall was packed. Jonah Richard of Real Hazen Construction, the local developer, said the proposal is to rehabilitate and construct 19 units of housing across two parcels.

Never someone to shy away from anything, Jennifer Swan’s standby adage to be “open to the possibilities” has opened many doors. Swan, formerly of North Haverhill, has lived in Buford, Georgia since 2012. She was recently a contestant on the Food Network’s “Chopped” cooking show.
WELLS RIVER—Recent storms have exacerbated an erosion problem in Wells River Village. Before the Wells River empties into the Connecticut River, it courses along Main Street before curving behind the Wells River Motel and a nearby apartment building.
